Invitation to a public lecture on copyright and innovation

This is to invite you to a public lecture by Prof. William Fisher from Havard Law School USA. The public lecture will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 10.00 AM in Taifa Hall.

Prof. William Fisher will speak on 'Copyright and Innovation.'

Among the issues Prof. Fisher will address include:

  • How authors and creators can create economic value for their creations. These creations include software, literally works, artistic works, audiovisual works, broadcasts, drawings and sound recordings.
  • How authors and creators can acquire control of their creations.

Japanese Government scholarship programme for 2019


The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship programme for 2019 is now open. We would like to inform you that we will be holding two seminars in order to share more information on the scholarship. The details are as follows:

Date: Wednesday 2nd & Saturday 5th May 2018

Wednesday May 2, 2018 Time: 2:00p.m– 4:00p.m.

Saturday May 5, 2018 10.00am - 12.00 noon

Venue: Japan Information & Culture Centre, Embassy of Japan, Mara Road, Upper Hill

To all students: Attendance of classes

The University Senate meeting held on 16th April 2018 reviewed the status of teaching and learning at the University.  It was noted that good progress has been made towards resumption and attendance of classes at various Colleges in spite of the interruption by the striking staff.
The purpose of this circular is therefore to request you to continue availing yourselves for learning at your respective classes without fail.
Please note that classes will proceed as scheduled and there will be no makeup class for students who do not attend their lectures as required. Class attendance will be taken.
