University Students Mentored on Work Ethics

University of Nairobi students have been mentored on work ethics by investment giant: Cytonn Investments.  

A team from Cytonn Investments led by several University of Nairobi Alumni have mentored students on various values that are required of them to fit into organizations and be good employees. Accountability, excellence, creativity and innovativeness, teamwork and integrity are among the key values that were highlighted.

 

UON Hosts Land Governance Action Framework Workshop

The University of Nairobi students and staff participated in a workshop on land governance action framework workshop. The one day event was held at Parklands Campus on June 27th, 2016.

Guest speaker, Prof Jacob Kaimenyi, Cabinet Secretary, ministry of Lands, said that every Kenyan has a right to land ownership. The laws of the land do not discriminate against gender, tribe, and age. He noted that some communities have unfair practices of land ownership where the female gender and people living with disabilities are segregated and denied right to ownership. He enumerated the various land reforms that the government has put in place like the national land policy which addresses the historical injustices and the security of tenure among other issues.

A Course on Monitoring and Evaluation of Population, Health and Development Programs (August 2016 Intake)

The Population Studies and Research Institute (PSRI) invites applications for August 2016 admissions for the above course.  This is a two-week course that is aimed at equipping program and project managers/officers, planners, and researchers in the fields of population, Health and development with monitoring and evaluation skills.  The overall goal of the course is to contribute to the improvement of the management of population, Health and development programs/projects in the country and elsewhere and to the development of national experts in monitoring and evaluation.  The course targets personnel from government, national, regional and international agencies, currently implementing and/or supporting population, health and development programs.
 
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT
The potential applicant will have at least a university degree from a recognised university or a diploma and other relevant qualifications plus at least three years of relevant work experience.  The applicant should be proficient in English.  Having some analytical skills, computer and data systems knowledge would be an added advantage.
 
COURSE DURATION
The course is full time and will be covered in two weeks.  The dates will be 1st – 12th August 2016.
