Graduate admission Policies and Application guidelines
i) MASTERS DEGREEApplicants for masters degree programmes should have a minimum of Upper Second Class Honours Degree in the relevant discipline from the University of Nairobi or Equivalent qualification from Institutions recognized by Senate. Persons with lower qualifications but with publications and postgraduate diplomas after Bachelors' degrees are also considered for admission.
ii) POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATESApplicants for Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates should have a minimum of a pass degree.
iii) DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY DEGREE
The applicants for the Doctor of Philosophy Degree should have a masters degree from the University of Nairobi or an equivalent qualification from institutions recognized by Senate. In addition, the applicants should submit a research proposal showing that they are capable of carrying out original research.

MODE OF STUDYThe mode of study is flexible and a student can study on full-time or part-time basis or even by distance learning.
The fees vary from one programme to another and also by the mode of study.
The current fees for Local and International students is available from the Director, Board of Postgraduate Studies or from the Deans, Directors of respective Faculties, Institutes and Schools.
Most courses commence in September but a few postgraduate part-time courses start in January and May of each year.
Application forms are obtained from the UNES finance offices on payment of a non-refundable application fee of Kshs. 3000/= for Kenyan citizens and US$ 50 or its equivalent for non-Kenyan citizens. The application fees MUST be paid in Cash at any Barclays bank branch a/c no. 030-073-1023948 and the banking slip to be taken to UNES in Gandhi Wing Room G3 for issue of receipt before collection of the application forms. The completed forms accompanied with copies of degree certificates and academic transcripts are submitted to the Board of Postgraduate studies which is located at the main Campus on the ground floor of Gandhi Wing.For further information on Postgraduate Studies and admissions, please contact the following:
