ABSTRACT E-Government has finally recently arrived in Kenya. There are currently a growing numbers of e-Government projects, some of which are contributing to public sector reform and delivering gains, while others are failing miserably. E-Government success requires changing how governments work, how they deal with information, how officials view their jobs and interact with the public. This fast changing picture is set alongside significant challenges, as where e¬Government projects are introduced, they mainly end in failure; either partial or total. This study reviews the current e-Government developments in Kenya, specifically, the recently released Government of Kenya e-Government Strategy, in light of other similar developments worldwide. It also looks at how the Kenya government plans to implement e-Government and based on two well developed and tested techniques draws on the possible issues and lessons that can be learnt based on the success or failure of similar projects. At the end it attempts to provide a 'Way Forward' or 'Roadmap for Kenya' based on these lessons.
