UoN and DAAD Review Partnership

The University of Nairobi and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) have reviewed their partnership that has existed over 40 years.

This happened when the DAAD regional Director, Dr. Helmut Blumbach paid a courtesy call on the UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi in his office on Monday October 31, 2016.

Dr. Blumbach said that German universities are interested in partnerships with Universities in the East African region. The East African region has recently had an increase in foreign investors and hence the education sector is also interested in partnering with top institutions such as the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Blumbach said that there is need for more detailed discussions to have a closer look at the doctorate study and possible areas of collaboration, joint initiatives, PhD supervision, quality assurance among others so that DAAD as an organization can give UoN specific German institutions to partner with.
