Undergraduate studies: Northwest Missouri State University, Missouri, USA. Aug 1972 to Dec 1975. Major in Mathematics/Computer Science, Minor in Physics. Bachelor of Science degree awarded in December 1975 with Highest Honours. Graduate studies: Stanford University, California, USA. June 1976 to April 1978. Major in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Computer and Communication Systems. Master of Science degree awarded in June 1978. Postgraduate Studies: University of Essex, U.K., 1984 to 1986. Undertook research studies leading to the degree of Ph.D. in Computer Science. Doctor of Philosophy degree awarded in June 1987. Thesis title: "A Broadcast Radio Based Computer Network for Rural Areas".
