Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund – Postgraduate Scholarship: 2017/2018 Academic Year

The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters Programmes during the 2017/2018 academic year.
Interested candidates are invited to apply/re-apply for the scholarship through our online application portal (https://gandhi.uonbi.ac.ke) from Friday July 28, 2017.  A non-refundable application fees of Kenya Shillings Two thousand Only (KShs. 2,000.00) will be charged to be paid through MPESA services.

Applicants must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent at Bachelors Level and must upload onto the application portal a letter of offer for postgraduate studies at the University of Nairobi for a Masters programme (not PhD).
Deadline for application is Friday September 1, 2017.
 
Only successful applicants will be contacted through the same portal.
 

Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship Seminar

The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship program for 2018 is now open. We would like to inform you that we will be holding two seminars in order to share more information on the scholarship. The details are as follows:
 
Date: Wednesday, May 03, 2017 and Saturday, May 06, 2017
Time: 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.
Venue: Japan Information & Culture Centre, Embassy of Japan, Mara Road,
Upper Hill
 
Registration and Entry is Free
 
Kindly note that in order for one to attend the seminar, registration is required. To register, kindly, send an email to scholarships@nb.mofa.go.jp or call 020-2898513. When registering, please provide us with your name,ID Number (for those over 18) and contact details. In addition to this, kindly specify the day you would like to attend the seminar. Deadline for registration for the Wednesday seminar is Tuesday, May 02, 2017 at 4:00pm while the registration deadline for the Saturday seminar is Friday, May 05, 2017 at 4:00pm.

100 fully-funded Scholarships for the Rome Model United Nations

The “INTERNATIONAL CAREERS FESTIVAL” will take place from the 5th to the 8th of March 2016 and will be the first event in Italy dedicated to those who want to gain a competitive edge in the world of international careers. The Festival is organized by the Giovani nel Mondo (GnM) Association with the support and patronage of eminent institutions, amongst which are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Roma Capitale, the European Commission, the World Food Programme (WFP) and IFAD.

The event will be structured into 4 intense days of information and an alternative approach to employment, allowing each participant to choose the path most suited to their needs and abilities, bringing them closer to a successful career. One of the projects within the Festival is dedicated to the world of diplomacy, the United Nations, and international organizations: the ROME MODEL UNITED NATIONS.

The Chinese Ambassador Scholarships

Applications are invited from needy undergraduate students for the Chinese Ambassador Scholarships.  Applicants should meet the following criteria;
 
1.        Registered needy students.
 
2.        Excellent academic record.
 
3.        Individual of impeccable character.
 
4.        Non-beneficiary of any other scholarship in the previous academic year.
 
5.        Full time student of the University of Nairobi.
 
Applications should be accompanied by an application form, copies of the national and university identity cards, certified death certificates and an academic record which indicates actual marks.
 
The application form can be accessed at www.studentsadvisor.uonbi.ac.ke and be handed at the office of the Special Student Advisor by Friday, 30th October, 2015 at 4.00pm.

Tokyo Foundation visit Varsity

The University of Nairobi (UoN) was once again privileged to host a team from Tokyo Foundation which administers the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF Programme). Since the establishment of the Programme in the University in 1989, SYLFF has presented fellowships to nearly 150 outstanding postgraduate students drawn for the social sciences and humanities.
